The child and the ‘childless woman’ coexist here, shadow and light intertwined. The face, raw and fractured, embodies both the monsters we hold inside and the innocence we strive to protect. Tracy’s poem, rich with allegorical truth, speaks to those who have walked a similar path.
Though unsettling, *Doppelgänger* offers not just darkness, but tenderness—a quiet recognition of survival, of making peace with our past, and of learning to live with all that we are.
